ros koch

Ros Koch is a British-born, South African-based artist living and working in Stellenbosch, South Africa.

She is a fine artist and she enjoys alternating her focus from Nature at large towards the humans who inhabit it.

Much of her recent work is directly inspired by Nature, and features predominantly land and sky scapes, choosing oil paint and watercolour to capture the light, atmosphere and physicality of her surroundings.

Sometimes her work evolves into something less site-specific, and more universal, inviting the viewer to pause and to feel a deeper sense of presence and connection.

The switch to figurative and portraiture work allows her the chance to capturing the essence of a person, in quiet everyday moments.
