I love rivers, waterfalls, lakes, the sea… any body of water really. Sometimes they are powerful, loud, full of energy. Other times calm, soothing, quiet.

But, no matter what, they are always inspiring.

The title for this artwork comes from the first line of a poem that alludes to the transience of life. The poet, Laurice Dorothy Edmond, uses the waterfall to describe how one’s youth quickly fades away. My intention with this work is to capture the:

“jewelled arc of the waterfall
in which I glimpse, minute by glinting minute,
all that I have and all that l am losing
as sunlight lights each drop fast, fast falling”
