The title is taken from another poem by WB Yeats, “The Song of Wandering Aengus” (1899). The line illustrates a lifelong, tireless search for an ideal love or dream. This painting of mine is was inspired by a moment in nature when I was sketching an old fallen tree trunk, in a place that prompted me to think deeply about such a lifelong endeavour.
