I’ll fetch thee brooks and From spotted nooks paintings form a pair.
Their titles are taken from the short poem “My River runs to thee” by Emily Dickinson. The river, in all its power, asks to be taken in by the far more powerful sea. Like Dickinson, I am inspired by the interconnectedness of both sea and river, and how one cannot live without the other. But also I wanted to invite the viewer to ponder on the symbolism in the poem and how it could be perceived as a love letter of sorts or a homage to a deity.
